Gingys In Pickens

Every small town has a story that’s too magical to explain.

This is ours.

One crisp November morning in 2025, Kit, the owner of Butterfly Wellness Yoga in Pickens, wished for something wonderfully simple - that people would smile a little bit more, know their neighbors a little better, and remember that Kindness is always in season.

As she decorated for Christmas, she imagined two cheerful gingerbread friends who could carry that message wherever they went. Legend has it that by the first frost, the Gingys had come to life.

They danced through downtown Pickens, visited schools, celebrated with local business, hugged anyone who needed a little encouragement, and quickly became treasured friends of the Pickens Police Department. Chief Beach saw something special in these merry little cookies. Together, they began creating new traditions that brought officers and neighbors together through laughter, kindness, and community spirit.

Today Kit, the staff at Butterfly Wellness and the Pickens Police Department want to continue to bring happiness and spread kindness wherever they may go!!
